Low Potassium Gold Standard (Correct and prevent low potassium)
Potassium is given as a standard therapy for low potassium level. Actual dosage should be administer under direction of your doctor.
High Blood Pressure Effective (Reduce blood pressure)
Population studies showed that subjects with higher intake of potassium has lower blood pressure (on average 3 to 9.5mm Hg systolic (pressure when heart contracts) and 2 to 6.4mm Hg diastolic (pressure when the heart relaxes).
Supplementation of potassium is particularly effective if the person has high blood pressure, high sodium intake and low potassium intake.
American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association guidelines advise intake of 3.5 to 5 gramme of potassium daily.
Stroke Effective (Reduce probability of stroke)
Population studies showed that subjects with intake of 1000 to 1500mg of potassium reduced the proability of stroke by 20%.
Usage of potassium is mainly beneficial for stroke related to blood clot, lowering such probability by 29%.
In USA, the Food Drug Administration states that food with a minimum of 0.35g of potassium can be labelled as a source for potassium and may be beneficial for reducing the chance of hgh blood pressure and stroke

  • Potassium may be accumulated in excessive level for patient with kidney diseases or adrenal gland issue. Excessive potassium is possible in heart failure patients due to their medication and may worsen the already weaken heart function.

Side Effects

    Common/ Mild: abdominal cramps, burping, farting, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea. Other side effects are usually due to overdose or sensitivity to potassium due to medical condition
    Heart: low blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythm, heart stopping.
    Digestive System: possible ulcer due to slow release potassium tablets.
    Neurological: numbness, feeling of weakness, diziness, confusion & lack of energy & interest.
